Access <strong>for</strong> Work on or Near High Voltage ElectricalApparatus9.7.4 High Voltage Metal-Clad Switchgear andAssociated Electrical Apparatus9.7.4.1 For the purpose <strong>of</strong> issuing an <strong>electrical</strong>access permit, a circuit breaker or a voltagetrans<strong>for</strong>mer may be regarded as isolated and atearth potential when it is racked out, andappropriate precautions taken to prevent reenergisation.(see also Clause 9.1)9.7.4.2 For <strong>work</strong> on busbar circuits, where thephysical separation <strong>of</strong> circuits within a chamber isnot visibly evident, additional precautions shall betaken <strong>for</strong> the <strong>safety</strong> <strong>of</strong> the <strong>work</strong>ing party.9.7.4.3 The proposed means <strong>of</strong> access withinmetal-clad chambers shall be described to theauthorised <strong>electrical</strong> operator by the recipient incharge and both must agree on the extent <strong>of</strong>access and that such access is safe.9.7.4.4 When access is required within spoutbushings the contacts shall be confirmed as deenergisedby an approved test.
