Access <strong>for</strong> Work on or Near High Voltage ElectricalApparatus9.2.5.6 All recipients shall be satisfied with theprecautions taken, the location <strong>of</strong> the points <strong>of</strong>supply, and the proximity <strong>of</strong> any adjacent live<strong>electrical</strong> apparatus.9.2.5.7 Any person involved in the issue or receipt<strong>of</strong> an <strong>electrical</strong> access permit who is not satisfiedwith the conditions, may apply to have additionalprecautions taken, either be<strong>for</strong>e the <strong>electrical</strong>access permit is issued or during the currency <strong>of</strong>the <strong>work</strong>.9.2.5.8 Subsequent to the issue <strong>of</strong> an <strong>electrical</strong>access permit additional recipients may sign on the<strong>electrical</strong> access permit, after appropriateinstruction by the recipient in charge or by anauthorised <strong>electrical</strong> operator acting with theknowledge <strong>of</strong> the recipient in charge.9.2.6 Persons Permitted to Sign ontoElectrical Access PermitsRecipients <strong>of</strong> an <strong>electrical</strong> access permit shall beauthorised recipients or instructed personsapproved to <strong>work</strong> under that specific <strong>electrical</strong>access permit. In the latter case it shall be theresponsibility <strong>of</strong> the recipient in charge to ensurethat such persons are placed in the charge <strong>of</strong> anauthorised recipient.Page 82 <strong>of</strong> 148 Blue Book – December 2005
Access <strong>for</strong> Work on or Near High Voltage ElectricalApparatusThe conditions under which authorised recipientsshall sign onto an <strong>electrical</strong> access permit is thatthe recipient:• Understands the <strong>electrical</strong> apparatuscovered and the limits <strong>of</strong> the <strong>electrical</strong>access permit;• Is satisfied with the precautions taken; and• Is aware <strong>of</strong> the nearest adjacent live <strong>electrical</strong>apparatus.The conditions under which an instructed personshall sign onto an <strong>electrical</strong> access permit is thatperson:• Understands instructions given on whatapproach is permitted to the <strong>electrical</strong>apparatus;• Understands instructions given on whatactivity is permitted to be taken in relation tothe <strong>electrical</strong> apparatus; and• Agrees to the continuous and closesupervision by a nominated authorisedrecipient.Blue Book – December 2005 Page 83 <strong>of</strong> 148
