Work by Persons Not Under the Control <strong>of</strong> Asset OwnerThe asset owner shall instruct the personcontrolling the <strong>work</strong> (not under the control <strong>of</strong> theasset owner) that they are responsible <strong>for</strong> having asafe system <strong>of</strong> <strong>work</strong> in place to avoid the risk from<strong>electrical</strong> hazard and will ensure all persons areaware <strong>of</strong> the safe system <strong>of</strong> <strong>work</strong>.12.2 PERMIT TO WORK ADJACENT TONETWORK ASSETSWhere the safe system <strong>of</strong> access referred to inClause 12.1 is used it shall include the use <strong>of</strong> thepermit to <strong>work</strong> adjacent to net<strong>work</strong> assets.When a permit to <strong>work</strong> adjacent to net<strong>work</strong> assetsis required the asset owner shall require a writtenapplication to be submitted.The application shall include sufficient in<strong>for</strong>mationto enable the asset owner to determine appropriatecontrol measures to enable safe access.The procedure <strong>for</strong> the permit to <strong>work</strong> adjacent tonet<strong>work</strong> assets shall include:• An approved issuer;• Nominated person in charge <strong>of</strong> the <strong>work</strong>;• Control measures (precautions) undertakenBlue Book – December 2005 Page 117 <strong>of</strong> 148
