Work in the Vicinity <strong>of</strong> Electrical Apparatus• isolating and earthing <strong>electrical</strong> apparatus;• positioning the mobile plant such that the safeapproach distance can be maintained in allcircumstances;• the use <strong>of</strong> <strong>safety</strong> observers and barriers andsigns;• the use <strong>of</strong> other precautions such as physicalrestrictions or control devices in conjunctionwith barriers;• the suppression <strong>of</strong> Auto-Reclose;• the alteration <strong>of</strong> protection and controlsettings; and• de-energising the <strong>electrical</strong> apparatus.Mobile plant, and where appropriate, vehicles, shallbe fitted with a trailing earthing conductor to protectagainst the hazards presented by inducedvoltages.When mobile plant may come near (refer section 6)live <strong>electrical</strong> apparatus, the mobile plant shall beearthed.
