General Safety Requirementsdate <str<strong>on</strong>g>f<strong>or</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> the new ARPANSA Standard is 2006.Organisati<strong>on</strong>s should apply appropriate exposurelimits as per NHMRC guideline <strong>or</strong> ARPANSAstandard whichever is current3.13.2 50Hz Electric FieldsThe Nati<strong>on</strong>al Health and Medical Research Council(NHMRC) interim guidelines <str<strong>on</strong>g>f<strong>or</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> occupati<strong>on</strong>alexposure limits <str<strong>on</strong>g>f<strong>or</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> electric fields are as follows:Whole <str<strong>on</strong>g>w<strong>or</strong>k</str<strong>on</strong>g>ing day 10 kV/mSh<strong>or</strong>t term30 kV/mSh<strong>or</strong>t term exposure to fields between 10 kV/m and30 kV/m is permitted provided the field strength (inkV/m) times the durati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> exposure (in hours)does not exceed 80 <str<strong>on</strong>g>f<strong>or</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> the whole day.
