DEFINITIONSDefinitionsFor the purpose <strong>of</strong> this Code <strong>of</strong> Practice, thefollowing definitions shall apply:Note: For definitions <strong>of</strong> barriers and signs referClause 9.7.2.41 ‘Access Authority’ means any <strong>for</strong>m <strong>of</strong>authorisation which allows access to, <strong>work</strong> onor near, or testing <strong>of</strong> <strong>electrical</strong> apparatus.Examples used in this Code are:• ‘Electrical Access Permit’ means a <strong>for</strong>m<strong>of</strong> authorisation which allows access to,and <strong>work</strong> upon, <strong>electrical</strong> apparatus.• ‘Sanction <strong>for</strong> Testing’ means a <strong>for</strong>m <strong>of</strong>authorisation to allow energisation <strong>of</strong><strong>electrical</strong> apparatus <strong>for</strong> testing purposes.• ‘Permit to Work Adjacent to Net<strong>work</strong>Assets’ means a document providingwritten permission to persons, other thanemployees or contractors <strong>of</strong> the net<strong>work</strong>operator, to <strong>work</strong> within safe approachdistances or near or in the vicinity <strong>of</strong> thenet<strong>work</strong> operator’s <strong>electrical</strong> apparatus.2 ‘Alive’ see LivePage 14 <strong>of</strong> 148 Blue Book – December 2005
