The STEP key (or LED) is always functional during ascan and can be used to provide a spacing event. For example,if programmed for TIMER channel spacing, theSTEP key (or LED) can also be used to select the nextchannel.2. Forbidden Channels cannot be entered into the scan list.3. With Single Channel enabled, only the lowest numberedchannel in a channel pattern (i.e. M1) will close whenselected.4. Card Pair is functional during a scan. The channels includedin the scan list and the corresponding channelsfor the other slot will be scanned.Summary of scan keys and LEDs:OPEN ALL ⎯ Use to stop a scan, open all channels, andplace the <strong>Model</strong> 7002 in the scan idle state.STEP ⎯ Use to take the <strong>Model</strong> 7002 out of the idle state; andalso, use to manually step through a scan.4.11 Channel patterns (STORE and RECALL)A channel pattern is simply a pattern of open and closedchannels that is stored in memory. Up to 500 channel patternscan be stored in memory.Channel Patterns are not lost (cleared) when the instrumentis turned off. However, a Channel Pattern is cleared if any ofthe following events occur:1. A closed channel in the Channel Pattern becomes unavailable.A channel can become unavailable by changinga slot assignment (Card TYPE) or by changing to apole mode that reduces the number of available channels.2. A closed channel in the Channel Pattern becomes restricted.A channel becomes restricted by adding it to therestricted channel list.4-27
