Front Panel Operationline. Perform the following steps to select the semi-synchronousmode, and to select the trigger line:1. With the SET TRIGGERLINK MODE menu displayed,place the cursor on SEMI-SYNCHRONOUS and pressENTER. The following message will be displayed:SET SEMI-SYNC LINE#1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6The position of the cursor indicates the currently selectedtrigger line.2. To select a trigger line for the <strong>Model</strong> 7002, place the cursoron the desired line number and press ENTER. Theinstrument will return to the SELECT CHAN SPACINGmenu.Immediate — With this selection, events (such as the TIM-ER and EXTERNAL triggers) do not control channel spacing.Once the scan starts, the <strong>Model</strong> 7002 will step throughit as fast as the internal settling time and user programmeddelay (see paragraph 4.13.4) will allow.Select immediate triggering from the SELECT CHANSPACING menu by placing the cursor on IMMEDIATE andpressing ENTER. The instrument will return to the CHAN-NEL CONTROL menu.Hold — When HOLD is selected, channel spacing is suppressed.As a result the, scan is stopped and will not continueuntil HOLD is cancelled by selecting another channel spacingselection. Select trigger hold from the SELECT CHANSPACING menu by placing the cursor on HOLD and pressingENTER. The instrument will return to the CHANNELCONTROL menu.NUMBER OF CHANS — Use this menu item to define thenumber of channels to be scanned. With the CHANNELCONTROL menu displayed, select this menu item by placingthe cursor on NUMBER-OF-CHANS and pressing EN-TER. The following menu will be displayed:NUMBER OF CHANNELSUSE-SCANLIST-LENGTH CHAN-COUNTUse-scanlist-length — With this selection, the number ofchannels in the scan is determined by the number of channelsdefined in the scan list. For example, if the scan list is madeup of channels 1!1, 1!2, 1!3 and 1!4, the number of channelsto be scanned is four. Select scan list length count from theNUMBER OF CHANNELS menu by placing the cursor onUSE-SCANLIST-LENGTH and pressing ENTER. The displaywill return to the CHANNEL CONTROL menu.Chan-count — With this selection, the user determines thenumber (count) of channels to scan. The user programmedcount can be smaller, equal to, or larger than the number ofchannels in the scan list. For example, if the scan list is madeup of four channels (1!1, 1!2, 1!3 and 1!4), the user can programa count of 12. With this count value, the instrument willrepeat the channel scan three times. An advantage of repeatingchannels (rather than scans) is that delays in the scan layerof operation (SCAN CONTROL) are avoided. Thechannel spacing delays between all 12 channels are the same.Select CHAN-COUNT from the NUMBER OF CHAN-NELS menu by placing the cursor on CHAN-COUNT andpressing ENTER. The following menu will be displayed:CHANNEL COUNTINFINITE ENTER-CHAN-COUNTINFINITE — Use this selection to continuously repeat thescan. With the CHANNEL COUNT menu displayed, selectthis menu item by placing the cursor on INFINITE andpressing ENTER. The display will return to the CHANNELCONTROL menu.ENTER-CHAN-COUNT — Use this selection to definethe number of channels in the scan. Perform the followingsteps to define a finite count:1. With the CHANNEL COUNT menu displayed, placethe cursor on ENTER-CHAN-COUNT and press EN-TER. A message indicating the current count will be displayed.CHANNEL COUNT = 0010The above message indicates that the current count is setto 10.4-45
