The EXIT key causes the display to back up to the previousmenu level. Also, keyed-in parameter changes areignored if an EXIT is performed. When the CARDCONFIG MENU is displayed, pressing EXIT will disablecard configuration.3. The position of the cursor is denoted by the blinkingmenu selection or parameter. The cursor is moved fromone item to the next using the cursor keys ( and ).4. A displayed arrow ( or ) indicates that there ismore information or additional menu items to selectfrom. When “ ” is displayed, use the cursor key todisplay the additional message(s); and conversely, when“ ” is displayed, use the cursor key.5. A numeric parameter is keyed in by placing the cursoron the digit to be changed, and pressing the appropriatekey on the keypad. After keying in a number, the cursorwill move to the next digit to the right.6. A parameter change is only executed when the ENTERkey is pressed.7. ENTERing an invalid parameter generates an error andignores the entry.8. The INFO key can be used anywhere in the menu structureto display helpful information messages concerningoperation. To cancel an information message, pressEXIT or INFO a second time.9. The ENTER, EXIT, and keys have LED counterparts.Thus, with the use of the optional light pen,these LEDs can be used instead of the keys.4.13.1 TYPEUse TYPE to assign a model number to each non-701X seriescard installed in the mainframe. This menu selection alsoallows you to assign a slot to operate as a simulator. By assigninga slot the value 9990, the mainframe will operate asif a 40-channel multiplexer card is installed. If you assign aslot the value 9991, the mainframe will operate as if a 4 × 10matrix card is installed in that slot. These simulators allowyou to develop a test program even though the card is not installedin the mainframe.The TYPE menu selection displays an assignment messagefor each slot. In general, the <strong>Model</strong> 7002 mainframe detects4-37
