Front Panel OperationSlot 1 paired to Slot 6Slot 2 paired to Slot 7Slot 3 paired to Slot 8Slot 4 paired to Slot 9Slot 5 paired to Slot 10For <strong>Model</strong> 701X series cards, slots 1 through 5 can be electricallyisolated from slots 6 through 10 by removing the rowjumpers on the backplane extender board (see paragraph4.4). With a CARD PAIR enabled, you can control two cardsthat are electrically isolated from each other.4.13.4 DELAYThe DELAY feature sets a channel delay for each of the tencards installed in the mainframe. The delay can be set from00000.001 seconds (1msec) to 99999.999 seconds. Thisdelay is in addition to the internally set relay settling timedelay.This user programmed delay is the time delay between channelsduring a scan. The first delay period occurs after the firstchannel(s) closes. In other words, the programmed delaydoes not occur at the beginning of a scan.CARD PAIR can only be enabled for cards that are similarand have the same number of channels. For example, if youtry to pair a mux card to a matrix card, a settings conflict errorwill occur and the card pair will remain disabled.If enabling a Card Pair adds a restricted channel or interlockedchannels to the Scan List and/or a Channel Pattern,then the entire Scan List and/or Channel Pattern is cleared.See paragraphs 4.8 and 4.11 for more information.Perform the following steps to check or change CARDPAIR:1. Press CARD CONFIGURATION to display the CARDCONFIG MENU.2. Place the cursor on CARD PAIR and press ENTER todisplay the following card pair selections:CHOOSE CARD PAIR1&6 2&7 3&8 4&9 5&103. Place the cursor on the desired card pair and press EN-TER. If, for example, you select card pair 1&6, the followingmessage is displayed:SET CARD PAIR 1&6OFF ONThe cursor position indicates the state (on or off) ofCARD PAIR for the two channels.4. Place the cursor on the desired state (ON or OFF) andpress ENTER.5. When finished, use the EXIT key to back out of themenu structure.Perform the following steps to set a delay:1. Press CARD CONFIGURATION to display CARDCONFIG MENU.2. Place the cursor on DELAY and press ENTER. The followingmessage is displayed:SET DELAY FOR:SLOT-#1 #2 #3 #4 #5SLOT-#6 #7 #8 #9 #103. Place the cursor on the slot that you wish to set a delayfor and press ENTER. If for example, you select slot 6and it currently is set for a one second delay, the followingmessage is displayed:(06) DELAY=00001.0004. To change the delay period, use the cursor keys and thenumeric keypad to key in the new value.5. With the desired delay period displayed, press ENTER.6. When finished, use the EXIT key to back out of themenu structure.4.13.5 READ-I/O-CARDThis menu selection is used to identify if there are any I/Ocards installed in the <strong>Model</strong> 7002.1. Press CARD CONFIGURATION to display the CARDCONFIG MENU.2. Place the cursor on READ-I/O-CARD and press EN-TER to display the model number of an installed I/Ocard.3. Press EXIT to back out of the menu structure.4-40
