Operating the CG-5 in the FieldLeveling the CG-5PRESSF5Press the MEASURE CLR key again (alternativelypress the F5 key) and the followingscreen appears:The instrument can now be leveled by rotating the footscrews in thedirections indicated by the icons on the top corners of the screen. Theorientation is shown in arcseconds at the bottom of the screen and by thecross-hairs. The definition of the axes of rotation and the sign convention isshown in the illustration below. Continue rotating until the intersection of thecross-hairs is within the small circle in the center (+- 10 arcsec). Graphic screen - allows the operator to view the raw gravity data ingraphical form as it is acquired at 6 samples per second and to review thegraph before deciding whether or not to save the reading.2.
