Adjusting Tilt Sensor Cross- CouplingAdjusting Tilt Sensor Cross-CouplingThis adjustment reduces cross-coupling between the tilt sensors and reducesthe effect that an adjustment about the X-axis has on the output of the Ysensor. The cross-coupling should be very stable and only needs to bemeasured and adjusted in the event that you replace the baseplate of theinstrument (sometimes required after many years of service).MaintenanceMeasuring Cross-CouplingPRESSPRESSMEASURECLRF5a. Place the Autograv on the tripod in a quietlocation with a solid floor (concrete ispreferable). A wooden floor or carpet is notsuitable.b. Rotate the tripod footscrews eight turns upfrom their bottom positions.c. Press the MEASURE CLR key. The systemdisplays the STATION DESIGNATIONscreen.d. Press the F5 key. The systemdisplays the LEVELING screen.e. Level the instrument until X = 0 ± 10, Y = 0 ±1.f. Wait 5 minutes and observe the Y tilt. Recordthe value as Y0.g. Rotate the front footscrews clockwise fiveturns. Observe the Y tilt and record the valueas Y1.h. Rotate the front footscrews counter-clockwisefive turns.
