Control Console and SoftwareThe control console includes:• 27-key dual function keypad• 320 X 240 quarter VGA monochrome graphics scree• microprocessor• solid state memoryConsole Functions: —It processes and applies corrections to the signals from the sensor, storesdata, formats it for outputting and performs instrument control functions. Amenu format with prompts is used to operate the instrument.Operating Modes: —The gravity meter has three modes of operation:• Field or Reading mode, where readings are initiated by the operator• Base station or Cycling mode, where a series of readings are madeautomatically with an operator selected preset cycle time between eachreading. Base station mode is activated by setting the # of Cycles parameterto 99999.• Auto Repeat, where the number of readings is preset by the user.The software function is essentially the same in all modes.Console Operation —The control console operation is based on a one-second gating time. Onceevery second:• analog signals are sampled• the display is updated• keypad commands are responded to• necessary control functions performedDuring a reading:• the gravity signal V fb is sampled six times every second by ADCL (seeFigure B-1 on page B-3).• the individual samples are averaged to filter out seismic noise.• a running mean of the samples is displayed together with its standarddeviation.B-4CG-5 Manual - part # 867700 Revision 2
