Maintaining Your CG-5 and Trouble-shootingOther Helpful HintsFollowing are some other basic hints for maintaining your equipment to itspeak operating efficiency.Maintaining the TripodThe tripod footscrew adjustment threads are protected by a stainless steelsleeve at the tripod base and a plastic wiper in the bottom of each footscrewThe stainless steel sleeve should be periodically maintained by winding thetripod footscrews to the top of their travel, and then cleaning and lightlyoiling the sleeve.Storing the AutogravThere are several steps that you must follow in order to obtain the best resultsfrom your instrument:• Level the Autograv• Always keep the Autograv connected to the powered up battery chargerwhen not in use.• Store the Autograv in a dry secure place.• During storage, remove the battery compartment door to prevent a buildupof gases which could vent from the batteries.5-34CG-5 Manual - part # 867700 Revision 2
