Maintaining Your CG-5 and Trouble-shootingPress F2 to accept or F3 to reject the New X Offset.If the value is accepted the instrument internalconstants are automatically updated.Note: The difference between the old and the newoffsets should be relatively small in mostcircumstances. Less than say 10 or 20 arcseconds. Ifthe reported error is larger than this there hasprobably been a problem with the measurement.Important:Do not accept the value and repeat the measurement.If the reported error is larger than 100 arcsec andyou have repeated the measurement several timescontact <strong>Scintrex</strong> before accepting the New X Offset.Repeat the measurement of TiltX.Offs to check thatthe error is less than 1 arcsec.Performing TiltY. Applying Tilt CorrectionsPRESSF5In this case, however, you will first adjust the rearfootscrews until Y = 150 +/- 0 and if necessary,adjust the front footscrews until X = 0 +/- 5.The second step is to adjust the rear footscrews untilY = - 150 +/- 10 and if necessary, adjust the frontfootscrews until X = 0 +/- 5.When both the X and Y offsets are completed,Press the F5 key to return to the Service menu.MaintenanceAdjusting Tilt Sensor Sensitivity(TILTXS, TILTYS)This adjustment is performed after both the tilt offsetadjustments are made. In general, the tilt sensorsensitivity is more stable than the zero point, so itonly needs to be checked once every four months.Adjusting X-axis SensitivitySet the gravimeter up in the same way as for the TiltOffset measurements.Access the Service menu.
