Operating the CG-5 in the Fieldthe USB driver. Your CG-5 USB driver is located onthe SCTUTIL CD-ROM. If this is not the case oryou are unsure of this procedure, please see“Installing your USB driver” on page D-9.Note:In the Dump window of the SCTUTIL program, youcan enable Keep Log File, this will produce acomplete log of all the surveys. Our CustomerService personnel may require these files to helpyou trouble-shoot your system.Select the file format that you would like the utilityto produce upon download. Other files that areproduced are the following:• *.raw: The raw data file. This is in binary formatthat is viewable but is not in user friendlyformat.• *.log: The log file. This is a text file and can beopened using Microsfot NOTEPAD.EXE orWORDPAD.EXE applications. The log filecontains all the settings of your CG-5.• *.sgd. The Scintrex Geophysical Data Formatfile. This is your dump file that can be used withmany applications such as Geosoft’s Oasismontaj. It is a binary file.• *.txt: The text version of your dump file. TheAltitude column contains the ambienttemperature values if the ambient temperature isselected in the Options Screen. The ‘DecimalTime +date’ column is meant for convenientplotting of time series data and should not beused if an accurate time record is required.
