Maintaining Your CG-5 and Trouble-shootingAdjusting Instrument ParametersThere are several instrument parameters that you need to periodically checkand adjust via the keypad, if required. As the instrument gets older, you willnot have to check these parameters as often.The parameters that require periodic checks and adjustments are:• Drift• Tilt offset• Tilt sensitivity• Calibration constantThis chapter describes these procedures, and also provides trouble-shootingtips and information on contacting <strong>Scintrex</strong> should assistance be required.Applying Drift CorrectionsDuring the first month of operation for a new instrument, check the driftcorrection twice a week.1. After this four week period, check the drift correction twice every month orlonger depending on the individual characteristics of the instrument.Important:If an instrument has been turned off for severalweeks or more (which should never be done unlessabsolutely necessary), then you should implementthe setup procedures outlined in “Automated DriftAdjustment Software” on page 5-11 or “AdjustingDrift Manually” on page 5-13.2.
