Recording DataTo measure data with the Autograv, select theMeasurement icon in the CG5REMOTE screen. Thesystem displays the following screen.This screen enables you to start the measurementprocess on the CG-5 remotely and to display datadirectly to your Personal Computer. To initiate thisprocess, press the Start Measuring key.Note:On the CG-5, you will notice that the instrumentstarts reading data. It first displays a strip chartrecorder screen followed by the Autograv Final Datascreen which shows numeric values for gravity,standard deviation and other parameters.Watch your Personal Computer to monitor the dataas it is displayed on your system. Gravity andstandard deviation are the key parameters plotted inthe strip recorder display. Numeric values aredisplayed to the left of the strip recorder.A-18CG-5 Manual - part # 867700 Revision 2
To stop measurement, press the Stop Measuringbutton. The system changes the name displayed onthe button to “Start Measuring” to indicate that thesystem is no longer recording data.To re-start measuring, press the Start Measuringbutton.If you want to exit, press the left arrow key. Thisleaves the CG-5 in active measuring mode until laterwhen you want to stop the measuring process anddownload data. Alternately, you may want togenerate output as described below.Generating OutputSeveral types of output can be obtainedimmediately. These include a text (*.txt) file and astrip chart.To generate a text file, press the Text file button. Thesystem displays the following screen.RemoteEnter the file name and press the Save key. The datais saved to your Personal Computer.To print a chart, connect a printer to your PersonalComputer and press the Print Chart key.
