Operating the CG-5 in the FieldNote:The default name of your file follows the followingformat: time (24 HRS) minutes month date year. TheCG-5 will dump in <strong>Scintrex</strong> Geophysical Databaseformat. This format is compatible with all moderngravity programs.Click on the Open button. You will then notice the“ON-LINE” message appears and that the data isbeing transferred and a bar graph shows the progressof the transfer process. After the data is successfullytransferred, a message indicating successful datatransfer will appear in the lower left-hand portion ofyour CG-5 screen.Once the data is successfully transferred, a messageindicating successful upload of your data willappear. Click on OK to close your data file.To finalize the dump procedure click on the convertbutton as described in the RS232 dumpingprocedure, on page 3-50.PRESSF5Once you have transferred your data to your PC,press the F5 key on your CG-5 to return tothe previous screen.3-56CG-5 Manual - part # 867700 Revision 2
Reprogramming your CG-5Reprogramming your CG-5From time to time a new version of the CG-5 operating software (OS) willbecome available. You may be receiving software upgrade notifications foryour CG-5. You can easily upload the most current version of the CG-5operating software by using SCTUTIL. The most recent version of the CG-5OS is available on our company website.Note:The upgrading of your software version can be doneeither with the RS-232 or USB ports. However, theUSB port upgrade is much faster and uses lessmenus.Note:If you are unsure of the current software version,press the INFO/7/STU key. The software versionwill be indicated on the first line of this screen.Important:Before you upgrade your software to the newestversion, you must dump all data.
