He served on the Joint Economic Committee and was Co-Chairman<br />

of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China.<br />

U.S. House<br />

While in the U.S. House, Congressman Dorgan was a member of<br />

the Ways and Means Committee from 1982 to 1992. He also served<br />

as a member of the House Agriculture Committee and the Select<br />

Committee on Hunger.<br />

Private Sector Career<br />

In 2011, after retiring from the Senate, he joined the Arent Fox<br />

law firm as a Senior Policy Advisor and is Co-Chair of the Government<br />

Relations Practice.<br />

In 2011 he also became a Senior Fellow at the Bipartisan Policy<br />

Center, a Washington DC think tank. He serves as the Co-Chair<br />

of the BPC Energy Project.<br />

From 2011 to present he has been an Adjunct Visiting Professor<br />

at Georgetown University where he guest lectures on government<br />

policy to graduate level students at the McCourt School of Public<br />

Policy.<br />

In 2016 he was appointed to serve as a Commissioner on the<br />

U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission.<br />

Dorgan is a New York Times Bestselling Author. His books include<br />

the NYT bestseller ‘‘Take This Job and Ship It!’’, ‘‘Reckless<br />

. . . How Debt, Deregulation and Dark Money Nearly Bankrupted<br />

America (And How We Can Fix It)’’. He also co-authored two novels,<br />

‘‘Blowout’’ and ‘‘Gridlock’’ which were classified as eco-thrillers<br />

dealing with energy challenges.<br />

He created and founded a non-profit organization called the Center<br />

for Native American Youth (CNAY) dedicated to improving the<br />

lives of Native American young people. The Center focuses its work<br />

on educational opportunities, teen suicide prevention and community<br />

building. Among a variety of outreach efforts, the Center conducts<br />

youth summits on Indian Reservations across the country<br />

and works to bring national awareness to challenges and successes<br />

of Native youth.<br />

He serves on a number of Boards and Commissions including the<br />

Board of Governors of the Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois<br />

as well as several corporate boards.<br />

Commissioner Dorgan has a Bachelors of Science degree from the<br />

University of North Dakota and a Masters of Business Administration<br />

from the University of Denver. He is married to Kim Dorgan<br />

and has four children: Scott (wife Denise, children Madison and<br />

Mason), Shelly (deceased), Brendon and Haley.<br />

Commissioner Fiedler was reappointed to the Commission by<br />

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi for a term expiring December<br />

31, 2017. He is the Retail Director, United Food and Commercial<br />

Workers International Union. Before that he was Assistant to<br />

the General President, and Director, Special Projects and Initia-<br />
