2.5 DOCUMENT STRUCTURE<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 3 provides the main results <strong>of</strong> the analysis <strong>of</strong> the <strong>railway</strong> applicati<strong>on</strong>s described in the<br />

URS document [AD-01], a main input <strong>for</strong> this study.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 4 introduces Satellite Communicati<strong>on</strong>s Systems adapted to <strong>railway</strong> applicati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 5 summarises the identified criteria to be evaluated against the proposed satellite<br />

communicati<strong>on</strong>s systems.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 6 presents the <strong>SATCOM</strong> soluti<strong>on</strong>s identified in the market survey.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 7 lists a pre-selecti<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>SATCOM</strong> soluti<strong>on</strong>s to be analysed and describes why some<br />

<strong>of</strong> the soluti<strong>on</strong>s identified in the market survey are discarded in advance.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 8 shows the main c<strong>on</strong>clusi<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> the c<strong>on</strong>sultati<strong>on</strong> process carried out to the <strong>SATCOM</strong><br />

and <strong>railway</strong> markets regarding their views about <strong>SATCOM</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>railway</strong>s.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 9 provides the assessment <strong>of</strong> <strong>SATCOM</strong> soluti<strong>on</strong>s based <strong>on</strong> technical, multitechnology<br />

and n<strong>on</strong>-technical criteria. This secti<strong>on</strong> also shows the methodology followed in<br />

the cost analysis study and CBA <strong>for</strong> both <strong>SATCOM</strong> and terrestrial soluti<strong>on</strong>s and their delta<br />

cost regarding current GSM-R.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 10 shows the operati<strong>on</strong>al and deployment c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> <strong>SATCOM</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>railway</strong>s.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 11 presents the c<strong>on</strong>clusi<strong>on</strong>s and recommendati<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> this study.<br />

Secti<strong>on</strong> 12 provides answers to the ToR questi<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
