Routing<br />

O3b does not use ISL. There<strong>for</strong>e, it requires several GES distributed worldwide. It can<br />

be seen at Figure 22 current 9 GES distributed in order to every satellite has always<br />

visibility to <strong>on</strong>e <strong>of</strong> these GES.<br />

6.2.6 Thuraya<br />

Thuraya is a regi<strong>on</strong>al satellite communicati<strong>on</strong> system that provides voice and data services in Europe,<br />

the Middle East, North, Central and East Africa, Asia and Australia (see Figure 24) by means <strong>of</strong> 2<br />

GEO satellites.<br />
