Top <strong>the</strong> Vic<strong>to</strong>rious Vase with fresh branches <strong>and</strong> leaves or a peacock fea<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>and</strong> plug it with a<br />

strip of cloth. Surround <strong>the</strong> neck with a red colored cloth ribbon, with <strong>the</strong> insignia image of a red<br />

lotus flower, symbolizing Amitābha, <strong>the</strong> Buddha of <strong>the</strong> Lotus Family of Vajravilāsinī.<br />

The Action Vase (Karma Kalaśa) – A vase used for pouring saffron water in performing <strong>the</strong><br />

consecrations. Except for it having a pouring spout, it is identical in appearance <strong>and</strong> ingredients<br />

<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Vic<strong>to</strong>rious Vase.<br />

Five Buddha Crown (Pañca Kula Mukuta) – Symbol of <strong>the</strong> Five Buddha Families, with <strong>the</strong><br />

image of Amitābha placed in <strong>the</strong> center. One each for <strong>the</strong> guru <strong>and</strong> students.<br />

Khaṭvaṅga (Staff) – Represents <strong>the</strong> union of primordial wisdom <strong>and</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Bliss</strong>, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> cosmic<br />

protective power of <strong>the</strong> deity. When held by <strong>the</strong> guru it is <strong>the</strong> deity’s consort. One for <strong>the</strong> guru.<br />

Vajra – Symbol of <strong>the</strong> indestructible power of <strong>the</strong> Vajrayāna. One for <strong>the</strong> guru.<br />
