Exercise #1: The Action Consort – Karmamudrā<br />

1. Visualize yourselves as <strong>the</strong> deity <strong>and</strong> its consort.<br />

2. Join <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r in sexual union.<br />

3. Maintain <strong>the</strong> clarity of your visualization, divine pride, underst<strong>and</strong>ing of <strong>the</strong> meaning of <strong>the</strong><br />

attributes, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> ultimate nature of <strong>the</strong> deity. Relax in <strong>the</strong> awareness that you are <strong>the</strong> deity. Feel<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> Passion of <strong>the</strong> two deities in sexual union <strong>and</strong> allow erotic bliss <strong>to</strong> rise.<br />

Benefits: Clears your mind, prevents ordinary appearances from arising, develops good<br />

visualization of <strong>the</strong> deity, <strong>and</strong> generates erotic passion.<br />

Exercise #2: Visualizing <strong>the</strong> Subtle Body – Bhāvanā Vajra Deha<br />

1. Retaining your visualized form as <strong>the</strong> deity, visualize <strong>the</strong> four major cakras at <strong>the</strong> forehead,<br />

throat, heart, <strong>and</strong> navel.<br />

2. Visualize <strong>the</strong> three major channels: <strong>the</strong> central channel <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> two side channels.<br />

3. Visualize <strong>the</strong> Four Seals: <strong>the</strong> red āḥ at <strong>the</strong> navel cakra, <strong>the</strong> white hūṃ in <strong>the</strong> heart cakra, <strong>the</strong><br />

red oṃ at <strong>the</strong> throat cakra, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> white haṃ at <strong>the</strong> forehead cakra.<br />

4. Four fingerwidths below <strong>the</strong> navel, visualize a red āḥ stroke seed syllable, with a short flame.<br />

5. Visualize <strong>the</strong> inside of your body as hollow like an empty shell, your body insubstantial like a<br />

rainbow.<br />

6. Blend your awareness fully in<strong>to</strong> your subtle body, until you become one with it.<br />

7. Bring your focus strongly <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> short āḥ seed syllable at <strong>the</strong> point below <strong>the</strong> navel <strong>and</strong><br />

dissolve your mind in<strong>to</strong> it in <strong>the</strong> meditative absorption of nondual awareness.<br />

Benefits: Brings mental clarity, prevents drowsiness, gives a strong mental image of <strong>the</strong> subtle<br />

body needed for success in <strong>Inner</strong> Heat Yoga, <strong>and</strong> clears inner obstacles <strong>to</strong> practice.<br />
