4. Half-Locust Pose – Ardha Śalabha Āsana<br />

Lie on your s<strong>to</strong>mach on <strong>the</strong> ground. The <strong>to</strong>ps of your feet rest straight along <strong>the</strong> ground, your<br />

chin rests on <strong>the</strong> ground, <strong>and</strong> your arms lie down by <strong>the</strong> sides of your body with <strong>the</strong> palms of<br />

your h<strong>and</strong>s facing upward. Gaze downward. Feel yourself as a locust, which finds its power<br />

through interconnectedness. Inhaling, bring <strong>the</strong> palms of your h<strong>and</strong>s <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> sides of your body,<br />

<strong>and</strong> raise your left leg up straight behind you about 1 <strong>to</strong> 2 feet off <strong>the</strong> ground. Your gaze remains<br />

downward. Hold your breath <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> pose for about 10 seconds. Exhaling, bring your left leg<br />

back down <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> ground. Rest for a moment. Perform this pose with your right leg. Repeat <strong>the</strong><br />

pose for about 1 minute.<br />

5. Yoni Pose – Bhaga Āsana<br />

Lie on your back on <strong>the</strong> ground. Bend your knees, <strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong>uch <strong>the</strong> insides of<br />

your left <strong>and</strong> right feet <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r with your feet <strong>to</strong>uching <strong>the</strong> floor, creating a<br />

diamond shape with your legs. Place your h<strong>and</strong>s above <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>p of your<br />

head, meeting as in Añjali Mudrā. Feel yourself as <strong>the</strong> earth goddess,<br />

Pṛithivī, giving birth <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> world. Perform this pose for about 1 minute.<br />

Kneeling <strong>and</strong> Squatting Poses<br />

6. Lion Pose – Simha Āsana<br />

Sit in a kneeling position, with <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>ps of your feet resting on <strong>the</strong> ground<br />

<strong>and</strong> your but<strong>to</strong>cks resting on your feet. Rest your h<strong>and</strong>s on your knees, <strong>and</strong><br />

gaze forward. Feel yourself as a lion, with all its courage <strong>and</strong> power.<br />

Exhaling fully with a hā sound, stick your <strong>to</strong>ngue out of your mouth pointing<br />

downward, <strong>and</strong> roll your eyes <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>p of your eyelids. Spread <strong>and</strong> separate<br />

your fingers outwards from your knees. Inhaling, return your <strong>to</strong>ngue back<br />

in<strong>to</strong> your mouth, your eyes <strong>to</strong> gaze forward, <strong>and</strong> your fingers resting<br />

comfortably on your knees. Perform this practice for about 20-30 seconds.<br />

Relax <strong>and</strong> repeat 2-3x.<br />
