TASTE
Anyone who has been to Sukhumvit 38 might
wonder about what lies behind the white walls, since
all you can see is the Thai-style roof surrounded by
greenery. Those who have a chance to walk through
the front door might feel like they are under a magic
spell because suddenly the surroundings completely
change and the bustling noise of Bangkok seems to
fade away. In the next few moments you start to get
a sense of where you really are as you walk up the
wooden stairs of a traditional Thai house flanked by
lush trees. The magic spell is stronger at dusk when
the whole compound is lit up by candlelight. Face
Bangkok can always enthrall visitors in the most
effortless way.
In terms of design, Face Bangkok aims to
present a Thai way of living through the Reun Thai
architecture surrounded by water, a representation
of klong, or canals, that were the lifeblood of
Bangkok in times past. Walk straight through and
you will be greeted with Face Bar, a meeting point
and gathering place where you can have cocktails
and conversations before heading to one of the
three restaurants within the compound. Upstairs
is Hazara restaurant that serves Northern Indian
cuisine. Walk out of Face Bar and you will find Lan
Na Thai on your right. This Thai restaurant offers
Thai cuisine with delicious treats like pomelo salad,
grilled sea bass in banana leaf, roasted duck curry,
and all-time favorite desserts like mango and sticky
rice. Downstairs is Mizaki, a Japanese restaurant
where high-quality Japanese dishes and sushi
are available in a private setting. If you come in
a group and want to order every kind of cuisine
available, Face Bangkok can easily arrange that.
However, if you want a more private setting for a
grand event, the function room at Face Bangkok
can accommodate 50-80 guests at a time. Apart
from the restaurants and bar, Face Bangkok also
has its own spa with 2 treatment rooms and various
treatments like Thai massage, herbal compress
massage, facial massage and scrubs. All in all, it’s
easy to spend your entire day at this one location.
