Industry links

Our career focused courses involve lots of work placements

and aim to provide you with valuable industry experience.

We have strong connections with local employers, including

care homes, primary schools and hospitals, to give you a

real insight into the working world. We work with impressive

placement providers such as Warrington Hospital, St.

Rocco’s Hospice and Catalyst Choices, meaning you will

have every opportunity to develop fantastic practical skills.

Throughout your course you will also meet leading

professionals from the industry, who will come into college to

provide advice and inspiration for your future career.

Alumni

Many of our past students have progressed onto higher

education, where they have studied a range of courses

including Social Work, Paediatric Nursing and Paramedic

Science. There is an immense variety of career pathways

available within the Health & Social Care sector. Our

students have a long-standing history of success in

securing employment after their course or securing offers

from their first choice university.

Trips and visits

As part of your course you will explore exhibitions at places

such as the Slavery Museum and the Thackray Medical

Museum. You will also have the opportunity to journey

further afield and take part in some fantastic projects

abroad. Past students have enjoyed trips to Martos in Spain

to take part in a rewarding challenge of caring for people

with limited English.

Facilities

Our Health & Social Care department contains all the

equipment and facilities you will need to ready yourself for

a career in the sector, including hospital beds and medical

equipment. We aim to provide an immersive learning

environment which allows you to become accustomed to a

working environment.
