Lauren Rudd
General Engineering tutor Chris Fearon has a longestablished
background in the industry. Chris began his
career in the Army before progressing onto the Ministry of
Defence working in aerospace.
As an avionics engineer, Chris’ role entailed the
maintenance of autopilot, radar, navigation and
communications. In college, Chris enhances his students’
learning by sharing his impressive industry experience and
giving them an insight into their future career prospects.
Former Wigan UTC student Lauren Rudd has passed her
Level 2 Mechanical Engineering with flying colours and will
be progressing onto the Level 3 in General Engineering.
Whilst on her Level 2, Lauren has developed a wide range
of skills including handfitting, stripping motors and electrical
maintenance. She says: “The best aspect of studying at the
college is that I have gained more skills and knowledge. The
PEO course was extremely interesting as there was a lot
of practical work and theory involved.” Lauren has always
felt supported and motivated by her tutor Jade Wilkinson,
saying: “Jade is very dedicated to pushing you to be the
best that you can be.”
