Industry links
The college has fantastic links with employers, and has
worked with big names in the industry such as Prestige
Motors, Jungheinrich and Rix Motors, as well as many other
local garages in the area.
As part of your course, you will undertake a work placement
in order to enhance your practical skills and become
accustomed to a real working environment. If you impress
your employer, work placements can potentially lead
onto apprenticeships and offers of part-time or full-time
employment.
The college often welcomes expert guest speakers from
the industry, to deliver inspiring talks and demonstrations in
our workshop. Past speakers have included Jungheinrich,
Snap-on and Halfords.
Trips and visits
During your course you will have plenty of chances to
participate in exciting industry trips and visits. Past trips
have included watching race cars at the NEC Auto Sports
show, visiting the Vauxhall factory, and touring local garages
to watch the experts in action.
Facilities
The college has its very own fully operational motor vehicle
workshop where you will develop your practical skills by
serving real clients and working on their cars.
Alumni
Due to our fantastic industry connections, there are many
opportunities for students to secure employment. Following
completion of their courses, previous students have gone
on to work for companies such as Volkswagen, Skoda and
TDi North.
