Level 2 Mechanical Engineering (PEO)
A one-year course which is highly practical and designed for students
wanting to start working as electrical/mechanical engineers. Modules
include: electrical wiring and testing, hand fitting techniques, milling
and turning, using technical information, and fixing machinery.
Level 3 Electrical and Electronic Engineering
A two-year course which is suitable for those who wish to
progress to higher education in their chosen field. You will gain an
understanding of process maintenance using electronic principles,
studying engineering design, electrical principles, communications,
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and electrical technology.
Level 3 General Engineering
A two-year course which is more theory based, covering subjects
such as: reading engineering drawings, mechanical technology,
science for engineering, computer aided design (CAD),
mathematics, further mathematics and engineering projects.
This course is for those who would like to focus on the major
engineering disciplines, giving you the knowledge and practical
skills to develop as an engineer.
To study Level 3 General Engineering you must have
achieved a grade 4 in GCSE Science.

meaning there has never been a better time to
enter the industry as a young skilled professional.

particularly sought after within the industry

VOCATIONAL COURSES - ENGINEERING
Progression opportunities
After completing your Level 3 course, you may wish to
progress onto our HNC in General Engineering or HNC/
HND in Manufacturing Engineering.
You could also progress onto a higher apprenticeship or
move straight into employment in the industry.
