Steve joined the college last year and teaches all levels
of plumbing. Before moving into teaching, Steve spent
two years as the technical trainer for a well-established
utility-based company, teaching smart meter engineers in
gas and electric meter installations. Steve has a wealth
of experience, not only in the domestic field, but also in
the commercial field, having spent a decade in the utilities
sector working on water, gas and electric services. Having
started off in the sector as an operative, he progressed up
through the ranks to supervisory positions, compliance and
training roles.
Level 2 Plumbing apprentice Matthew has spent the last
year working with H20 Ltd, a leading supplier of a broad
range of plumbing and heating solutions. Matthew, previous
student of St. Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School,
has found his work to be varied and interesting: “I enjoy
meeting new people and learning new skills every day. Each
day involves something different and it is exciting.”
Matthew thinks highly of the college’s facilities, saying: “The
facilities and work stations are immaculate and allow you to
experience real life situations. I would highly recommend an
apprenticeship at this college.”
