WVR School Leavers' Prospectus 2021-2022

Level 1 Public Services & Sport
A one-year introductory course which will give you a broad
understanding of the sport and public services sector. You will
study fitness testing and training, how to plan and navigate a route,
responding to an incident, and assisting members of the public.
Level 2 Sport
A one-year course which will help to develop your professional,
personal and social skills. Modules covered include: sports
coaching, health and wellbeing, fitness training, customer service,
delivering sports events, and leading sports sessions.
Level 3 Sport & Physical Activity
A two-year course which enhances valued skills such as
communication, research and analytical skills. You will study
modules such as: sports coaching and activity leadership, the
effects of physical activity, sports organisation, nutrition, sport
injuries and promotion and sponsorship.

VOCATIONAL COURSES - SPORT
Progression opportunities
You may wish to progress onto our HNC Sport course
or alternatively apply to university. We also offer Fitness
Instructor and Sports Massage courses in addition to our
HE courses.
Many of our previous students have successfully progressed
onto university places or apprenticeships, undergoing training
to be PE teachers or sports development coaches.
