Matt is our Curriculum Manager for Sport and Public
Services, with a wide range of experience in the field. He
has spent over 20 years in a series of very successful roles
as a PE teacher in secondary schools across the area,
taking on head of department, head of faculty, head of sixth
form and assistant principal roles.
Matt is exceptionally proud to work in his local FE college
and says: “It gives me tremendous pleasure to see our
learners progress successfully beyond their studies with us,
and enormous pride to see them go on to their own next
steps, hopefully using the experiences of our exceptional
teaching team to move in to their careers, where they too
can aspire to have a positive impact on our community.”
Former King’s Leadership Academy student Emily has
thoroughly enjoyed her Level 3 Sport course and plans to
continue her studies at Warrington & Vale Royal College,
securing a place on the HNC in Sports Science.
Emily originally had ambitions to become a PE teacher but
starting college has broadened her career choices within
the sports industry, showing her the many other routes she
can choose. Emily now has wider goals of being either a PE
teacher, physiotherapist or personal trainer.
Emily says the support she receives from her tutors has
been fantastic, saying: “All the tutors are really nice and they
treat you like adults.”
