TRAINING PROGRAM - SHORT TERM BASIS<br />
Phase III Mechanical Training (1 Week)<br />
This phase win give the Trainee a working knowledge of a<br />
Garage Operation. It is not intended to teach the Trainee<br />
mechanics, but rather to teach him the garage system and function.<br />
A. Work in garage for approximately one week<br />
B. Assist meclanics in all types of repair and scrvicinL of<br />
units, including tire vork<br />
C. Spend time with various Suppliers to become familiar with<br />
warranty wrk and, also, to learn about secondary Suppliers<br />
Phase IV Driver Training (1 to 3 Weeks)<br />
This phase covers the Driver Training Program. Should the<br />
Trainee wish to actually learn to drive a truck, we would<br />
devote two weeks to such training.<br />
A. Prepare Training agenda<br />
B. Prepare written ii.structions for Trainee<br />
C. Set up driving course<br />
D. Prepare Driver's Manual<br />
Phase V Trucker Operations (2 Weeks)<br />
Trainee would be working with the dispatchers, clerical c d<br />
management personnel, and work in all areas of Trucking.<br />
A. Prepare route sheets for Distribution Operation<br />
B. Prepare dispatching forms and records<br />
C. Dispatch drivers<br />
D. Set up standard controls for Trucking Operation<br />
E. Prepare mileage, hourly and tonnage reports<br />
F. Work with vehicle licensing, insurance and accident reporting<br />
(. Disciplining drivers<br />
H. How to interview prospective drivers<br />
Phase VI Administrative Procedures (2 Weeks)<br />
This phase would cover the management techniques of operating a<br />
Trucking Department. The following activities would be<br />
covered.<br />
A. Setting up a Trucking Department<br />
1l Define objective<br />
Proper staffing<br />
(3) Delegating authority and responsibility<br />
(4) Determining administrativw support from other departments<br />
