The Wadena terminal caters for the Eastern region and all the<br />

other terminals operate on a similar basis within their classified<br />

area of operations.<br />

They do mainly the following:<br />

(i) Supply transport within their region in the case of Wadena<br />

for Eastern. They haul products from warehouses and products<br />

from the Co-operatives and other back loads from these regions.<br />

In some instances they haul even farmer produce like corn when<br />

return load is not available.<br />

(ii)<br />

They provide all petroleum deliveries for their jurisidiction<br />

area or the region, Other products delivered include liquid<br />

fertilizer and anhydrous ammonia.<br />

(iii) They also maintain a ship at regional headquarters to do<br />

all major repairs for their area of operation within Eastern<br />

region - this is at Wadena.<br />

The Wadena terminal has the following sub-terminals where some of<br />

the Cenex equipments are trucks report to and are manned by a<br />

person per station. These sub-terminals are namely:­<br />

(i) Fargo in North Dakota.<br />

(ii) Deer River Minnesota.<br />

(iii) Cu<strong>mb</strong>erland Wisconsin.<br />

(iv) Colu<strong>mb</strong>us Wisconsin.<br />

(v) Brooks Missouri.<br />

(vi) Another one in East Illnonois.<br />

To cover these regions effectively Cenex terminal has 3<br />

dispatchers at Wadena who are constantly in contact with customers,<br />

sub-terminal dispatchers, drivers, and head office at St. Paul<br />

where the warehouse is. They contact terminals to guarantee<br />

transport, and give instructions to drivers to get where to<br />

report to for loads and in case of problems or breakdown. All<br />

orders come directly to the terminal at Wadena and it is here<br />

where the goods or schedules are prepared for haulage of freights.<br />

Billings and payment of drivers are made at the Cenex<br />

headquarters at St. Paul; but all the necessary documentation is<br />

is prepared at Wadena. .../43
