There are two big obstacles to overcome, one being the customs<br />

pi ,edures and the other to attain cooperation between the<br />

Ugandan and Kenya governments. It will be necessary to clear<br />

customs with a minimum delay. To accomplish the proposal's<br />

objectives, the operation would require the following items:<br />

1. Terminal and Facilities s<br />

Kampala: a) Parking area for approx. 80 Units<br />

b) Major Repair Facility<br />

c) Fuel Facility<br />

Nakulu: a) Parking area for approx. 36 Units<br />

b) Minor Repair Facility<br />

i) I Yschan'cidod 2 Spanner Boys<br />

ii) Service Vehicle<br />

c) Fuel Facility<br />

d) Food and Lodging for 36 Drivers<br />

Mo<strong>mb</strong>asa: a) Parking area for approx. 80 Units<br />

b) Minor Repair Facility<br />

i) 2 Mechanics and 2 Spanner Boys<br />

ii) Service Vehicle<br />

c) Fuel Facility<br />

d) Food and Lodging for 18 Drivers<br />

2. Egiet<br />

The equipment would consist of a tractor-trailer co<strong>mb</strong>ination.<br />

For purposes of this proposal, I have selected the Leyland tractor,<br />

Land Train Model 3029, 30-Ton GVW and 65-Ton GCW/GTW with a<br />

Cummins 290 H.P. Engine and a Fuller RTO nine-s-etd transmission.<br />

The trailer would be a Leyland tr-axle. The dealer would handle<br />

all warranty work and would Inventory adequate spares.<br />
