A partir de la combinaison, envisagée par Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, des cinq<br />

anneaux et de l'année olympiques, Lance Wyman et Eduardo Terrazas ont<br />

conçu le logotype MEXICO 68, puis l'ont développé pour créer la célèbre affiche<br />

des Jeux qui rappelle les motifs des Indiens huicholes (en bas à gauche). Cet<br />

emblème a aussi servi de point de départ à l'alphabet olympique, l'un des<br />

principaux éléments du Programme d'Identité olympique.<br />

Working from Pedro Ramírez Vázquez' concept of combining the five <strong>Olympic</strong><br />

rings and the year 1968, Lance Wyman and Eduardo Terrazas developed the<br />

MEXICO 68 logotype, and through the extension of linear elements created<br />

the widely acclaimed poster which recalls traditional Huichol design (below left).<br />

From the logotype evolved the distinctive <strong>Olympic</strong> alphabet–a prominent<br />

element of the <strong>Olympic</strong> Identity Program.
