A spectacular feature of the Urban Design program was the use of huge
lighter-than-air balloons as urban adornment. In plazas and along principal
streets, in transportation terminals (overleaf) and hovering above the competi-
tion sites, these transparent balloons—emblazoned with the MEXICO 68
logotype–were a delightful element of the Olympic Identity Program.
