posés par l'orientation des spectateurs et la circulation automobile. Plusieurs<br />
itinéraires, empruntant les principales artères de <strong>Mexico</strong>, étaient signalés par<br />
des bandes de couleurs peintes sur les réverbères ainsi que de grandes banderoles<br />
de plastique ornées du symbole de la paix (pages suivantes). Un plan<br />
MEXICO 68 (page de gauche) indiquant les principales installations et leurs<br />
voies d'accès avait aussi été distribué aux visiteurs.<br />
Urban design greatly diminished problems of physical orientation and vehic-<br />
ular circulation during the <strong>Olympic</strong> period. Principal arteries were color-coded<br />
with well-defined bands painted on light poles. Aided by the correlative MEXICO<br />
68 map (opposite), even newly-arrived visitors could readily find their way<br />
through the sprawling city to <strong>Olympic</strong> installations. Light poles were also<br />
adorned with long plastic banners corresponding to the color code and displaying<br />
the symbol of peace (overleaf).<br />
