II n'est done pas surprenant de trouver parmi <strong>le</strong>s instruments tin grand nombre d*emprunt& d'origine italienne parmi <strong>le</strong>squels <strong>le</strong>s plus connus sont la mandoline, I'oct<strong>au</strong>ine, <strong>le</strong> violon- cel<strong>le</strong>, <strong>le</strong> piano, la sampogne, la sourdine et <strong>le</strong> trombone. II est <strong>au</strong>ssi interessant de reraarquer <strong>le</strong>s noms des instruments tires de Fanglais et notamment <strong>le</strong> banjo, la concertina, <strong>le</strong> dulcimer , 1' harmonica, <strong>le</strong> cornopean, <strong>le</strong> dital-harpey <strong>le</strong> glass-cord, etc, Le mot HARMONICA offre un cas interessant. Selon <strong>le</strong> Dictionnaire General de Darmesteter et Hatzfeld, HARMONICA serait emprunte a Fal<strong>le</strong>m. harmonika, tire du lat. harmonica, fern, de harmonicas, harmonieux. II en resulte que A. Francois cite <strong>le</strong> francais HARMONICA parmi <strong>le</strong>s emprtints tres rares faits a ral<strong>le</strong>mand <strong>au</strong> XVHI* sic<strong>le</strong>, cf.
