3.1.4.1. Experiment la: Fish Artificial Propagation by Using HCG
The results of artificial propagation of fish by using HCG (Ul/kg of fish) at
five concentration levels are presented in table 3.
(a,b) values in each column sharing same superscript are not significantly different (p > 0.05).
The results show that the lowest spawning rate (25 %) and fecundity
(514,091 eggs/kg) was obtained with an hormone concentration level of 1,500
Ul/kg. There were no statistically significant differences (p > 0.05) in fecundity,
fertilization and hatching rate between HCG hormone concentration levels from
'2,000 Ul/kg to 3,000 Ul/kg. Fecundity of fish was fluctuating between 558,334
and 658,864 egg/kg, obtained from stimulation hormone concentrations of
2,000-3,000 Ul/kg. The fertilization and hatching rate were 97 to 97.2 % and
98.3 to 98.9 % respectively. In comparison to the other parameters related to fish
breeding, the spawning rate of 100 % and the fecundity of 658,864 egg/kg
obtained from the concentration level of HCG hormone of 3,000 Ul/kg was the
best concentration for artificial propagation of climbing perch.
