Semester an unserem BWL-Intensivkurs teil. Auch die
semesterbegleitende "Projektarbeit" mit Themenwahl
aus den Gebieten Netzbetrieb, Netzplanung und
Kraftwerksbewertung war mit 27 Teilnehmern im
Berichtsjahr wieder sehr erfolgreich.
"Energie" aufzubauen. Auch dieses bietet erstmalig ab
Frühjahr 2007 einen zweijährigen Weiterbildungskurs
"Sustainable Energy Markets" an.
I am proud to share the honours my staff achieved on
account of their excellent study and research work:
Dipl.-Ing. Bernd Tersteegen
Werner von Siemens Excellence Award
Dipl.-Ing. Simon Krahl und Dr.-Ing. Tobias Paulun
Otto-Junker prize of RWTH Aachen University for
outstanding study performance
Dr.-Ing. Tobias Paulun
Prize of the SEW Eurodrive Foundation
Dr.-Ing. Tobias Paulun und Dr.-Ing. Hagen Schmöller
Friedrich-Wilhelm-Prize for outstanding scientific
performance
The number of more than 560 first year students at
the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information
Technology, among them 42 master students from
abroad and 80 students enrolled in the study of Technical
Informatics, has increased considerably compared
to last year.
The study course Industrial Engineering of the branch
Power Engineering, however, has developed very
positively. The number of first year students increased
to 120.
The lectures of the Institute continue to be in high
demand. The number of students of my lecture "Power
Systems", a two-semester program, which is not
mandatory has again increased to more than 70
students. Every semester about 70 students take part in
the intensive course "Basics of Business Administration
for Engineers". The lecture "Project Work" with topics
taken from the field of network operation, network
planning and evaluation of power plants again proved a
success with 27 participants. The quality and presentation
of the results found by the teams of 3 also impressed
the experts in the industry whom I had invited
to the final presentation.
Under the scientific guidance of Prof Ströbele (Westfälische
Wilhelms-University Münster) and myself, as
well as in co-operation with "Haus der Technik" at
Essen, the job-accompanying master study "Energiewirtschaft"
will start in June 2007 for the first
time, after the successful accreditation by the Accreditation
Agency for Degree Programmes, ASIIN.
The European Energy Institute, founded by 15
additional colleagues coming from all over Europe and
by me, is a virtual institute located at the university of
Leuven. It aims to build up an international competence
centre "Energy". Starting in the spring of 2007, it will
offer a two- year advanced training, entitled "Sustainable
Energy Markets".
