Enhanc<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>patient</strong>s’ role <strong>in</strong> <strong>patient</strong> <strong>safety</strong> <strong>in</strong> the Netherlands<br />

This is only possible when <strong>in</strong>itiatives are based on the relationship between <strong>patient</strong>s<br />

and <strong>health</strong> <strong>care</strong> professionals to create an active dialogue about <strong>safety</strong>. This <strong>in</strong>tegrated<br />

approach is expected to make susta<strong>in</strong>able implementation of the role of the <strong>patient</strong>/<br />

consumer <strong>in</strong> <strong>patient</strong> <strong>safety</strong> possible.<br />
