3.34.3 Alluvial mining<br />

Alluvial mining of gold takes place in the Manyame River (Figure 3.14; Chiyanike, 1997).<br />

3.34.4 Monitoring systems<br />

ZINWA carries out extensive monitoring of the Manyame River, although this is mainly in the vicinity of the<br />

Harare – Chitungwiza metropolitan area.<br />

3.34.5 Water quality data<br />

Water quality data are available from ZINWA for several monitoring stations.<br />
