The Point, Boston traffic from the congested intersections that make up the Sear’s Rotary. In addition, a left-turn lane will be provided from Brookline Avenue eastbound to Park Drive. Boylston Street Reconstruction – this City project will reconstruct Boylston Street adjacent to the project site and eliminate the existing pedestrian island at the west end of the site. Signal upgrades and bicycle lanes on Boylston Street will be provided. Level of service analyses for the 2017 Build Condition indicate that the redevelopment of the Project Site and its associated traffic do not cause any decrease in overall level of service at the signalized intersections analyzed. However, as can be expected in an urban area, several of the study area intersections operate with long delays either on some of their individual approaches or for the entire intersection, with or without the Project. The results of the traffic analysis indicate that the reconstructed intersection of Boylston Street/Brookline Avenue/Park Drive within the nearby Sear’s Rotary is not expected to experience a change in overall LOS with the addition of Project trips; however, during the morning peak hour two movements on Brookline Avenue will experience a decline in level of service due to less than three seconds of additional delay. This change will not noticeably affect traffic operations. During the evening peak hour, no overall LOS degradation is expected to occur on any overall intersection approach due to the Project. The shared Trilogy site driveways on Brookline Avenue and Kilmarnock Street will operate at acceptable levels of service during the morning and evening peak hours. The Brookline Avenue site driveway was analyzed with the assumption that the prohibited left-turns entering and exiting the driveway would continue. These turns do not show a detriment to traffic operations. 3-16 Transportation
