• Batted .310 (22x71) with two doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI in 20 games during June.<br />

• Had his contract purchased from New Orleans by the Marlins on July 21 -- made his major league debut that evening<br />

versus Colorado, starting behind the plate and going hitless in three at-bats.<br />

• Collected a triple off Jair Jurrjens for his first major league hit on July 25 versus Atlanta.<br />

• Optioned to New Orleans by the Marlins on August 4 -- saw action in eight games with New Orleans before he was<br />

recalled by the Marlins for the remainder of the season on August 20.<br />

• Belted his first major league home run on September 1 versus Washington, a solo shot off of Craig Stammen.<br />

• Connected for the first grand slam of his career off of Chris Carpenter on September 20 versus St. Louis.<br />

Spent the majority of the 2009 season with Double A Jacksonville.<br />
