Entering his eighth season with the Tigers after joining the organization on November 7, 2005.<br />

• Coordinates baseball instruction in the Tigers baseball academies in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela<br />

and serves as an international liaison for Tigers players in the low minors.<br />

• Served as bench coach for Spain in the 2012 European Championship as the team finished in third place...also<br />

served as bench coach for Spain during the World Baseball Classic Qualifier as the team won the tournament and<br />

advanced to the World Baseball Classic for the first time.<br />

• Prior to joining the Tigers organization, Crespo spent the previous three seasons as the Latin American<br />

Coordinator of Instruction for the San Diego Padres.<br />

• Served as manager of the Gulf Coast League Yankees and as a South Florida area scout with the New York<br />

Yankees during the 2002 season.<br />

• Part of the Florida Marlins organization from 1996-2001, serving as a hitting coach with the Gulf Coast League<br />

Marlins during his first three seasons with the organization and the organization’s roving minor league infield<br />

instructor in his final three seasons.<br />

• Went into private business from 1984-95, teaching hitting and directing the MC Bulldogs, a baseball team of 11-14year-olds<br />

who traveled to tournaments during the summer.<br />

• Served as a roving minor league infield instructor for the San Diego Padres for five seasons 1979-83.<br />

• Began his coaching career with Miami Dade-New World Center following the 1976 season and also coached at<br />

Florida International University for one season before joining the Padres as a scout and instructor in 1978.<br />

• A third-round draft selection by the Boston Red Sox in 1968, he played nine seasons before retiring in 1976.<br />

• His son, Manny, works at Gulliver Prep High School in Miami, FL, and serves as the baseball team’s hitting coach.<br />

• His daughter, Jessica, has two sons, Roger Jr. and Jian.<br />

• Resides in Miami, FL with his wife, Maria.<br />

Entering his 53rd season in professional baseball and 12th with the Tigers organization after joining the club as a<br />

major league scout on January 24, 2002.<br />

• Named special assistant to the general manager on October 18, 2007, after spending the previous six seasons<br />

as a major league scout with the organization.<br />

• Prior to joining the Tigers, Egan spent the previous 10 seasons with the Florida Marlins, serving as a<br />

professional scout (1999-2001), crosschecker (1996-98) and West Coast supervisor (1992-95).<br />

• Spent the 1986-91 seasons with the Texas Rangers, joining the club in 1986 as a minor league pitching<br />

coordinator, before joining the major league staff as a bullpen coach in 1988...after two seasons as bullpen<br />

coach with the Rangers, Egan served as pitching coach with Triple A Oklahoma City in 1990 and managed<br />

Rookie level Butte in 1991.<br />

• Following his playing career, Egan joined the Major League Scouting Bureau in 1974, working with the bureau<br />

until joining the Rangers in 1986.<br />

• Began his career in professional baseball as a pitcher with seven organizations over a 13-year span from<br />

1957-69...he logged major league time with the Tigers in 1963-64, the California Angels in 1966 and the Los<br />

Angeles Dodgers in 1967.<br />

• Resides in Garland, TX with his wife, Kandi.<br />
