• Sidelined June 1-22 with right elbow inflammation -- started one game with Oklahoma during an injury rehabilitation<br />

assignment.<br />

• Limited lefthanded batters to a .222 batting average (47x212)...righties batted .272 (52x191) against him.<br />

Appeared in 17 games (13 starts) during five separate stints with Texas during the 2002 season.<br />

• Assigned to Oklahoma to begin the season -- led all Pacific Coast League starters with a .204 batting average against,<br />

while he finished second with 9.40 strikeouts per nine innings and fifth with 10.76 baserunners per nine innings.<br />

• Recalled by Texas from Oklahoma on May 9 -- earned his first major league win that day versus the Chicago White<br />

Sox before he was optioned back to Oklahoma on May 11.<br />

• Recalled by Texas from Oklahoma on June 4 -- made one appearance in relief for the Rangers before he was optioned<br />

to Oklahoma on June 8.<br />

• Tabbed the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for June 10-16 -- earned the win in his only start during the week,<br />

fanning nine batters in eight scoreless innings on June 14 versus Memphis.<br />

• Recalled by Texas from Oklahoma to start the first game of a doubleheader on June 24 versus Anaheim -- optioned<br />

back to Oklahoma following the game.<br />

• Had his option transferred from Oklahoma to Single A Charlotte on July 10 -- started one game with Charlotte before<br />

he was recalled by Texas on July 15...started that night for the Rangers at Kansas City before he was optioned to<br />

Oklahoma on July 16.<br />

• Recalled by Texas from Oklahoma for the remainder of the season on July 29.<br />

Assigned to Double A Tulsa to open the 2001 season, starting four games before his option was transferred to<br />

Oklahoma on April 23.<br />

• Second among all Pacific Coast League starters with 9.76 strikeouts per nine innings with Oklahoma...finished fifth in<br />

the league with 73 walks.<br />

• Struck out 11 batters on May 6 at Iowa -- equaled that total with 11 strikeouts on June 7 versus Sacramento.<br />

• Recalled by Texas from Oklahoma on August 8 -- made his major league debut that evening versus Detroit, starting<br />

against Nate Cornejo...both Benoit and Cornejo were making their major league debuts, marking the first time two<br />

pitchers started against each other in their major league debuts since August 21, 1990 when Minnesota’s Paul Abbott<br />

faced Kansas City’s Jim Campbell...optioned back to Oklahoma for the remainder of the season on August 9.<br />

• Tabbed the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for August 27-September 3 -- won both of his starts during the<br />

week, posting a 0.53 ERA (17.0IP/1ER) and 20 strikeouts.<br />

• Fanned a season-high 12 batters as he fired a three-hit shutout on September 3 versus Memphis -- tied for fourth in<br />

the Pacific Coast League with one shutout.<br />

• Named the seventh-best prospect in the Rangers organization and 15th-best prospect in the Pacific Coast League<br />

following the season by Baseball America.<br />

Limited to 16 starts with Tulsa during the 2000 season after being sidelined for nearly two months with severe right<br />

shoulder dis<strong>com</strong>fort.<br />

• Fanned a season-high 11 batters on August 24 at Round Rock.<br />

• Named the fifth-best prospect in the Rangers organization following the season by Baseball America.<br />

• Saw action in eight games with Grand Canyon in the Arizona Fall League following the season, posting a 2-2 record<br />

and 1.91 ERA (33.0IP/7ER).<br />

Spent the entire 1999 season with Charlotte, tying for the staff lead with 22 games started and finishing second with 83<br />

strikouts.<br />

Limited to 15 starts with Single A Savannah during the 1998 season due to two separate stints on the disabled list.<br />

• Sidelined June 1-July 20 with a tender right elbow.<br />

• Landed on the disabled list for the remainder of the season on August 5 with right shoulder tightness.<br />

Started 10 games for the Gulf Coast League Rangers during the 1997 season.<br />

• Fanned seven batters in eight scoreless innings to earn the win in his only start during the Gulf Coast League playoffs.<br />

• Named the sixth-best prospect in the Rangers organization and eighth-best prospect in the Gulf Coast League<br />

following the season by Baseball America.<br />

Made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Rangers after signing with Texas as a non-drafted<br />
