Selected to both the Eastern’s League mid- and post-season all-star squads with Double A Erie during the 2001 season.<br />

• Led the Eastern League with 540 at-bats, while he finished third with 163 hits and seventh with a .302 batting average.<br />

• Topped all league shortstops with 206 putouts and 370 assists.<br />

• Named to Baseball America’s Double A all-star squad.<br />

• Tabbed the best defensive shortstop in the Eastern League by Baseball America.<br />

• Posted a season-high 13-game hitting streak April 22-May 6, batting .436 (24x55) with 13 runs scored, three<br />

doubles, a triple, nine RBI and five stolen bases.<br />

• Reached base safely via a hit or walk in 27 straight games April 22-May 21 -- hit .411 (46x112) with 24 runs scored,<br />

five doubles, two triples, 19 RBI, 14 walks and six stolen bases during the stretch.<br />

• In 21 games during April, he hit .346 (28x81) with 14 runs scored, five doubles, a triple, 10 RBI and six stolen bases.<br />

• Collected a season-high four hits on May 20 at Bowie -- equaled the high with four hits on June 9 at Trenton, July 28<br />

at Portland, August 15 at Altoona and August 29 versus Bowie.<br />

• Hit .319 (37x116) with 25 runs scored and 15 RBI in 29 games during the month of May.<br />

• Batted .360 (18x50) with two doubles, a triple and eight RBI over an 11-game stretch June 16-29,<br />

• Batted .327 (49x150) versus lefthanded pitchers...hit .292 (114x390) against righties.<br />

• Hit .340 (49x144) with runners in scoring position.<br />

• Named the second-best prospect in the Tigers organization and 10th-best prospect in the Eastern League following<br />

the season by Baseball America...rated as the best hitter for average, best defensive infielder and as possessing the<br />

best infield arm in the Tigers organization following the season by Baseball America.<br />

• Played for Oriente in the Venezuelan Winter League following the season, batting .265 (36x136) with 23 runs scored,<br />

three doubles, a triple, a home run, 17 RBI and four stolen bases in 40 games...Infante finished the season with a<br />

.353 on-base percentage.<br />

Played the majority of the 2000 season with Single A Lakeland before joining Single A West Michigan in late August.<br />

• Batted .300 (30x100) with 18 runs scored, three doubles, a home run, eight RBI and four stolen bases during a 27game<br />

stretch May 18-June 24.<br />

• In 24 games during May, he batted .308 (24x78) with seven runs scored, two doubles, a home run and nine RBI.<br />

• Posted a 10-game hitting streak July 20-August 1, batting .406 (13x32) with three doubles and three RBI.<br />

• Had his contract transferred to West Michigan on August 22 -- reached base via a hit or walk in 10 of the 12 games<br />

he played with the Whitecaps.<br />

• Hit .250 (3x12) with three RBI and two stolen bases in three games during the Midwest League playoffs.<br />

• Named as the eighth-best prospect in the Tigers organization following the season by Baseball America.<br />

• Batted .218 (17x78) with 10 runs scored, two doubles, a triple, five RBI and a stolen base in 23 games for the<br />

Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League following the season.<br />

Assigned to the Gulf Coast League Tigers after signing as a non-drafted free agent on April 28, 1999.<br />

• Posted a 13-game hitting streak July 12-August 18, batting .392 (20x51) with four doubles and five RBI.<br />

He, his wife Yohanna and son Yomar reside in Lecheria, VZ during the off-season.<br />

INSIDE-THE-PARK HOME RUNS BY TIGERS<br />

Austin Jackson connected for the 288th inside-the-park home run in Tigers history on August 10, 2012 at Texas.<br />

There have been four inside-the-park home runs by Tigers players in the 13-year history of Comerica Park, with the last<br />

being hit by Curtis Granderson on August 26, 2007 versus the New York Yankees.<br />

Ty Cobb holds the franchise record for inside-the-park home runs during a career with 47, including a club-record nine<br />

inside-the-park home runs during the 1909 season.<br />
