<strong>2013</strong> TIGERS<br />

Appeared in a career-high 83 games with Houston during the 2002 season as he pitched exclusively in relief for the first<br />

time in his career -- second in the National League with 83 appearances.<br />

• Led all National League relievers with 118 strikeouts, while he finished second with 97.1 innings pitched, a .173 batting<br />

average against and 5.36 hits per nine innings, third with 10.91 strikeouts per nine innings, fourth with a 1.85 ERA and<br />

tied for seventh with six wins.<br />

• Posted a 0.58 ERA (46.2IP/3ER) and 57 strikeouts during a 40-outing stretch June 27-September 18.<br />

• Compiled a 1.05 ERA (43.0IP/5ER) in 39 appearances following the all-star break...posted a 2.48 ERA (54.1IP/15ER)<br />

in 44 outings prior to the all-star break.<br />

Completed his second season with Houston in 2001, establishing a career high with 145 strikeouts.<br />

• Opened the season in Houston’s starting rotation, posting a 5.57 ERA (21.0IP/13ER) in four starts...<strong>com</strong>piled a 1.93<br />

ERA (84.0IP/18ER) in 57 appearances in relief.<br />

• Optioned by the Mets to Norfolk on July 8 -- started one game with Norfolk before he was recalled by the Mets for the<br />

• Garnered National League Player of the Week honors for July 19-25 -- won both of his starts during the week, posting<br />

a 1.26 ERA (14.1IP/2ER) and 14 strikeouts.<br />

• Fanned a season-high 10 batters for the Mets on August 6 versus Los Angeles.<br />

Combined to post a 12-8 record, 2.84 ERA (167.2IP/53ER) and 200 strikeouts in 27 outings (26 starts) during the 1998<br />

season between Double A Binghamton and Norfolk -- sixth among all minor league pitchers with 200 strikeouts.<br />

• Rated as possessing the best fastball in the Eastern League by Baseball America.<br />

• Tabbed the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for May 11-17.<br />

• Had his option transferred from Binghamton to Norfolk for the remainder of the season on June 10.<br />

• Named the second-best prospect in the Mets organization, fifth-best prospect in the International League and eighthbest<br />

prospect in the Eastern League following the season by Baseball America.<br />

Saw action with Single A St. Lucie and Binghamton during the 1997 season.<br />

• Sidelined June 3-July 3 with a sore right shoulder -- assigned to the Gulf Coast League Mets during an injury<br />

rehabilitation assignment June 27-July 3.<br />

• Named the seventh-best prospect in the Mets organization following the season by Baseball America.<br />

Second among all South Atlantic League starters with 11.05 strikeouts per nine innings as he spent the entire 1996<br />
